Cedar Bluff Recognizes Boys and Girls Basketball Teams at Council Meeting

The Cedar Bluff Town Council meeting highlighted community pride as local student athletes were recognized for their achievements on the basketball court.
During the meeting, Mayor Bill Warren emphasized the importance of Cedar Bluff schools to the town’s future. He praised the school system’s leadership, teachers, and staff for providing students with an excellent education, while also recognizing coaches for instilling dedication, teamwork and discipline. Warren noted that the school system represents more than just a building, calling it a reflection of the people who make up the community.
Mayor Warren presented proclamations honoring both the girls’ and boys’ varsity basketball teams for their accomplishments during the season.

The Cedar Bluff girls’ basketball team was recognized for achieving success both academically and athletically. The team recorded 20 wins and advanced to the sub-regional tournament. Warren commended the players representing themselves, their team, and the community with pride. Individual awards highlighting team spirit were also presented.
The team was coached by Deidra Cox, Ryan Cox, and Alexis Smith. Players recognized include Kylie Vadon, Janaya Higgins, Scarlet Brown, Ciana Smith, Brooklyn Hall, Vana Martin, Devandria Moore, and Paityn Walker.

The Cedar Bluff boys’ varsity basketball team was also honored with a proclamation after securing 20 wins and advancing to the Sweet 16 in the regional tournament. The team was recognized for its teamwork, dedication and discipline throughout the season.

Players acknowledged at the meeting included Kuper Bradley, Dylan McDaniel, Jonas Brown, Kadien Tracy, Daylon Dobbins, Keondre Wynn, Zyrese Wynn, Zach Jones, Shon Glenn, Sam Payne, Zahlen Kyle, Jordan Bryant, Jamison Miller, and Jeremiah Miller. The team was coached by; Johnny Amison, Dave Barrett, Isaiah Jones, and Tom Baxley were also recognized for their leadership.
The recognitions served as a celebration of both athletic achievement and the role Cedar Bluff schools play in shaping the community’s future.
