Gadsden State’s Phi Theta Kappa Chapter Celebrates Outstanding Achievements at Catalyst Conference in Baltimore

Gadsden, Ala. — Gadsden State’s Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) chapter is proud to announce remarkable accomplishments at this year’s Catalyst conference held in Baltimore. Competing among more than 1,300 chapters from around the world, the chapter once again earned a place in the Top 100 Chapters internationally, continuing its tradition of excellence.
In addition to this prestigious recognition, the chapter’s Honors in Action project received exceptional distinction, ranking among the Top 50 Most Distinguished Projects, a milestone achievement, and the first time the chapter has earned this honor.
Individual students were also recognized for their outstanding contributions and academic excellence. Felicia Hunter and Shelby McGinnis were celebrated in the Parade of Scholars as Coca-Cola Scholarship recipients, highlighting their dedication and achievement.
Further adding to the chapter’s success, Vanessa Cochran was honored on stage as part of the Chapter Advisor Team Award, alongside Melissa Davis, recognizing their leadership, mentorship, and commitment to student success.
“I am incredibly proud of our students and all they have accomplished,” said Melissa Davis, PTK advisor. “Their hard work, dedication, and passion continue to elevate our chapter to new heights on an international stage.”
These achievements reflect the strength, perseverance, and excellence of the chapter members, solidifying their reputation as leaders among a global community.
