In the Cherokee County Arrest Files for the previous 24 hours:
Peter Roy, age 55 of Centre, was arrested by the Centre Police Department for failure to appear on a previous charge.
Jason Payne, age 38 of Piedmont, was arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office on charges of mail theft (less than 10 addresses) and non-residence-no force.
Arrests are based on probable cause; all subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Currently, there are a total of 86 inmates housed in the Cherokee County Detention Center.
