COLLINSVILLE – The Collinsville Lady Panthers reached the DeKalb County Softball Tournament semifinals Saturday, but fell to Ider 4-2 to end their run at a county title.
Earlier in the day, the Lady Panthers (15-13) defeated Fyffe 16-1 and Geraldine 6-1.
In the win over Fyffe, Lexii Burt and Halle Peek both went 3-for-3 with a double. Burt scored twice and drove in five runs. Peek scored three runs and had two RBIs.
Gabriella Whitmore was 2-for-3 with a run and a two RBIs. Jemma Smith went 2-for-2 with a walk.
Maelee Barkley doubled, walked, scored three runs, and had a RBI. Brayleigh Smith finished with a hit, a walk, and two runs.
Smith earned the win after working four innings. She allowed an earned run on five hits with no walks and a strikeout.
In the win over Geraldine, Peek homered, walked, and drove in three runs. Whitmore tripled and scored a run. Burt had a pair of hits, a run, and a RBI. Barkley and Carlee Davis both delivered a hit and a run. Smith finished with a hit.
Bella Wills earned the win after working six innings. She allowed an unearned run on four hits with a walk and four strikeouts.
In the loss to Ider, Barkley, Smith, and Davis had the Lady Panther hits. Davis also walked. Peek drove in both runs. Ella Coker walked scored a run. Whitmore walked.
Smith tossed 2/3 of an inning and gave up two earned runs on no hits with two walks and no strikeouts. Wills worked 2 2/3 innings of two-hit ball and surrendered two unearned runs with a walk and a strikeout.
