Fort Payne Middle School Teacher Placed on Administrative Leave
FORT PAYNE — A Fort Payne Middle School teacher was placed on administrative leave earlier this week following allegations of possible misconduct, according to Fort Payne City Schools Superintendent Brian Jett.
In a statement released April 10, Jett said the action was taken Tuesday, April 7, after school officials were made aware of concerns regarding the conduct of the teacher.
Jett said Fort Payne City Schools takes all allegations involving employee conduct seriously and immediately began reviewing the situation.
The superintendent said the school system has also been in contact with law enforcement so they can conduct any appropriate investigations.
“We are appreciative of our law enforcement partners, and we will work collaboratively with them throughout this process,” Jett said.
Jett added that due to the matter being a personnel issue, specific details cannot be released.
“As is customary with ongoing personnel matters, I will not provide any specific information about this matter to ensure that I comply with all legal procedural requirements,” he said.
School officials emphasized that student safety remains their highest priority.
