Centre Native Riley Russell Promoted to Corporal with Rome-Floyd Fire Department

Centre — A Centre native has been promoted within the Rome-Floyd Fire Department.

Riley Russell was recently promoted to the rank of Corporal as part of the department’s latest round of firefighter promotions. Russell was among several firefighters recognized for their service, dedication and commitment to the department.

In a statement, the Rome-Floyd Fire Department praised the newly promoted firefighters for their continued efforts and leadership.

“Please join us in congratulating our newly promoted Corporals,” the department said in the announcement. “Your dedication and commitment to excellence continue to move our department forward. Congratulations on this well-deserved achievement.”

Russell, who is originally from Centre, joins a group of firefighters receiving the promotion, including Raley Brumbelow, Juan Cornejo, Joey Cowart, Jacob DeBerry, Taylor DeBerry, Lance Estes, Josh Kampfer, Koby Legg, William Taylor and Nick Tucker.

The promotion to corporal recognizes firefighters who have demonstrated leadership, experience and a commitment to serving their communities through the fire service.

Russell’s promotion highlights the continued impact of local residents serving in public safety roles throughout the region.
