Piedmont Police Chief and Fire Chief Reappointed During Piedmont City Council Meeting

 

 

During the regular meeting of the Piedmont City Council, action was taken to reappoint Chief Nathan Johnson as Police Chief to continue to run the department. Fire Chief Todd Kirkland was reappointed to his position under the current administration which took office in November.

Mayor Farmer informed the Council the City’s garbage truck was down for repairs for the past couple of days and service has not been what it needed to be with just one truck operational. He said the truck should be back in service Wednesday morning.

The bills were approved for payment in the amount of $863,912.08. Mayor Farmer told the Council the majority of the general expenses were electricity and gas with 2 weeks of payroll included.

A contract for service for mowing the Parks, Roberts House, Train Depot and museum once per week to A&W Lawn Care in the amount of $1900.

The next meeting of the Piedmont City Council is April 21st at 5:30 pm in the Council Chambers.
