Collinsville splits Friday softball games in Gadsden Umpires Tournament

RAINSVILLE – The Collinsville Lady Panthers split a pair of softball games in the Gadsden Umpires Tournament at Rainsville on Friday. They defeated Spring Garden 10-1 and were no-hit by Ashville 11-0.

In the win over Spring Garden, Maelee Barkley went 2-for-2 at the plate with a double, a walk, two runs, and two RBIs for Collinsville (10-9). Lexii Burt also doubled, scored a run, and had two RBIs. Aubrey Reeves doubled, walked, scored a run, and had a RBI.

Carlee Davis came away with a hit, a walk, two runs, and a RBI. Gabriella Whitmore collected a hit, a walk, a run, and a RBI. Ella Coker contributed a hit, a run, and a RBI. Halle Peek walked twice, scored a run, and had a RBI.

Bella Wills earned the win after working four innings. She allowed an unearned run on two hits with two walks and three strikeouts.

Hayden Parris had both hits and drove in a run for Spring Garden. Addie Word scored a run. Kylie Bates and Lleyton Carroll both drew a walk.

Olivia Messer suffered the loss after tossing three innings. Word worked an inning.

In Collinsville’s loss to Ashville, Lexi St. John, Kimber Layfield, and Harper Dunn combined to no-hit the Lady Panthers. St. John finished with nine strikeouts.

Barkley drew a walk and Brayleigh Smith suffered the loss for Collinsville.

The Lady Panthers play in the tournament on Saturday at 10 a.m.
