SPRING GARDEN – Cherokee County High School senior pitcher Emma Hill recorded her 1,000th career strikeout Thursday in the Lady Warriors’ 8-4 softball win at Spring Garden.
K. Lewis led the Lady Warriors (11-9) at the plate by going 3-for-4 with a run and a RBI. Sofie Dawson went 2-for-4 with two runs. Emma Eberhart was 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs.
Izzy Patterson posted a hit, a run, and two RBIs. Sydni Frost collected a hit, a walk, and a RBI. A. Morris managed a hit and scored a run. Brooklynn Bruce walked and scored a run.
The Lady Warriors built a 7-0 lead in the top of the fifth inning before Spring Garden (5-9) attempted to rally. The Lady Panthers scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth and two more in the bottom of the seventh.
Spring Garden is at Gaylesville on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. Cherokee County is at Southside, also on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
