Cherokee County Recognizes 911 Dispatcher Jamey Spencer During National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week

CENTRE — Cherokee County E911 and the Cherokee County Emergency Management Agency are recognizing members of their communications team as part of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.
As part of the observance, the agencies are highlighting the work and dedication of local 911 dispatchers who serve as the first point of contact for many emergency situations in the county.
One of the dispatchers being recognized is Jamey Spencer, who has served the community as a 911 dispatcher for nearly two years.

Before joining Cherokee County 911, Spencer spent 24 years working as a paramedic, providing critical care and responding to emergencies on the front lines. Officials say that experience has brought valuable knowledge and perspective to the communications center.
Outside of work, Spencer enjoys spending time with family and traveling.
Cherokee County officials expressed appreciation for Spencer’s service, professionalism, and continued commitment to helping the citizens of Cherokee County.
National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week is observed each year to recognize the vital role that dispatchers play in emergency response, often serving as the calm and steady voice guiding callers and coordinating first responders during critical situations.
