Warriors complete area baseball sweep of White Plains

CENTRE – The Cherokee County Warriors swept an area baseball doubleheader with White Plains on Thursday. The scores were 10-6 and 10-7.

In the first game, Adam Griffith doubled, walked, scored a run, and had three RBIs for the Warriors (11-11). He also earned the win after working 5 2/3 innings, giving up two earned runs on nine hits with a walk and three strikeouts. Case Hill tossed 1 1/3 innings of no-hit ball with three strikeouts.

Aiden Bobbitt doubled, scored a run, and had a RBI. Wyatt Baker contributed a hit, a run, and a RBI. Cayce Tittle tallied a hit and two runs. Evan Hill added a hit and a run.

Owen Jacoway walked twice, scored twice, and drove in a run. Daniel Neyman walked and scored a run. Nate Black scored a run.

In the nightcap, Baker went 3-for-4 with a triple, three runs, and two RBIs. Black was 2-for-4 with a double, two runs, and three RBIs. Tittle went 2-for-3 with three RBIs. James Hunter also had a pair of hits with a run.

Case Hill had a hit and scored a run. Brantley Silver finished with a hit and a RBI.

Owen Jacoway tossed three innings. He allowed no earned runs on a pair of hits with two walks and three strikeouts.

Evan Hill and Black both worked a pair of innings. Evan Hill allowed three earned runs on five hits with no walks or strikeouts. Black gave up two hits and had four strikeouts.

The Warriors host Cleburne County to begin another area series on Tuesday.
