Two Deputies Promoted to Patrol Division at Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office

CENTRE — Two members of the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office have been promoted from the Corrections Division to the Patrol Division and will soon begin training at the law enforcement academy.
According to information released by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Jeff Shaver recently administered the Oath of Office to Deputy Hayden Ray and Deputy Colby Bright during a ceremony marking their transition into their new roles.


Ray and Bright previously served in the Sheriff’s Office Corrections Division and were selected to move into patrol positions as they continue their careers in law enforcement.

Both deputies will soon depart to attend the Sheriff’s Academy, where they will complete the required training to become fully certified law enforcement officers before returning to serve the citizens of Cherokee County in their new assignments.

Officials with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office asked the community to join them in congratulating Deputies Ray and Bright on their promotions and wishing them success as they begin their academy training.
