There were minimal changes for area high school baseball and softball teams in the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association rankings. The latest poll was released early Thursday morning.

The only team to see a change in the poll was Class 2A Sand Rock softball (12-7). They dropped two spots to No. 7 this week.

Other area softball teams nominated this week include Class 4A Cherokee County (10-9), Class 3A Collinsville (9-8), and Class 1A Gaylesville (5-5).

There were no changes for area baseball teams from last week. Class 3A Collinsville (16-2) and Piedmont (16-5) maintain their No. 2 and 3 rankings respectively. Other area teams nominated include Class 4A Cherokee County (9-11) and Class 1A Spring Garden (8-10).
