One Killed, Two Injured in Head-On Collision on Alabama 273

BLUE POND GAP — One person was killed, and two others were injured in a head-on collision Wednesday morning on Alabama 273, also known as Blue Pond Road, in Cherokee County.
The accident occurred around 7:15 a.m. near the intersection of Alabama 273 and Cherokee County Road 48 in the 4000 block of the highway.
Emergency responders from the Leesburg Fire Department, Sand Rock Fire Department, Cherokee County Rescue Squad, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Atrium Floyd EMS, the Cherokee County Coroner’s Office, and Alabama State Troopers were dispatched to the scene.
Two individuals injured in the crash were transported by Atrium Floyd EMS to area hospitals for further treatment. The identity of the person killed in the collision has not been released.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Troopers Division is investigating the accident. Officials say no additional information will be released until it is provided by ALEA.
