Former Albertville Police Chief Randy Amos Passes Away

ALBERTVILLE — The Albertville Police Department is mourning the loss of former Police Chief Randy Amos, a longtime law enforcement officer who dedicated more than three decades to serving his community.
Chief Amos, who spent most of his life as a resident of Albertville, devoted 31 years to law enforcement and continued a multi-generational legacy of service. During his career, he served as Albertville’s Police Chief for 10 years and most recently held the position of Chief Deputy with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the Albertville Police Department, Amos was known not only for his leadership but also for his commitment to mentoring others and serving the community. Over the years he worked as a school resource officer and also served the city as a member of the Albertville City Council.
In a statement, the department described Amos as someone who deeply cared for the people he protected and the community he served.
His legacy of service continues through his son, John Amos, who currently serves with the Albertville Police Department.
A memorial service for Chief Amos will be held Thursday, April 2, at 12 p.m. at Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Albertville. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
Law enforcement agencies and community members across the region have expressed condolences and shared memories honoring Amos’ decades of dedication to public safety.
