Six-run fifth inning closes out Collinsville softball win over Asbury

COLLINSVILLE – The Collinsville Lady Panthers scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take an 11-1 softball win over Asbury on Tuesday.

Lexii Burt led the Lady Panthers (9-8) at the plate by going 3-for-4 with a double and a RBI. Maelee Barkley was 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, and two runs. Gabriella Whitmore went 2-for-3 with a run and four RBIs. Preslye Uptain delivered two hits, including a double, with three RBIs. Aubrey Reeves was 2-for-4 with a run and a RBI. Ella Coker also contributed a pair of hits, a run, and a RBI. Carlee Davis and Halle Peek both had a hit and a pair of runs.

Barkley earned the win after working four innings. She gave up an earned run on four hits with two walks and six strikeouts. Brayleigh Smith worked an inning of no-hit ball with three strikeouts.

Collinsville is at Fyffe on April 6.
