Sand Rock softball surges past Fyffe with 11-run fifth inning

FYFFE – The Sand Rock Lady Wildcats blew open a two-run game by scoring 11 runs in the top of the fifth inning in an 18-5 softball win at Fyffe on Tuesday.

Molly Grace Lay doubled twice, scored a run, and had a two RBIs for the Lady Wildcats (11-7). Aubie Camp contributed a pair of hits, a walk, two runs, and three RBIs. M. Walker managed two hits, a walk, a run, and two RBIs.

Alyvia McMichen doubled, walked twice, scored three runs, and had two RBIs. Macy Martin managed a hit, a walk, three runs, and two RBIs. Emma Sipsy doubled, scored a run, and drove in four.

Kinzlee Peek, Raven Todd, and Amelia Ford each had a hit and scored a run. Todd also walked. Taylyn Warren collected a hit, two runs, and a RBI. Ashlyn McMichen scored a run.

Martin worked three innings in the circle. She gave up five earned runs on two hits with two walks and five strikeouts. Sipsy tossed two innings of one-hit ball with three strikeouts.

Sand Rock is at Cedar Bluff on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
