Gadsden State Cherokee Hosting Annual Play-Doh Drive for Children’s Advocacy Center

CENTRE— Gadsden State Community College’s Cherokee Campus will hold its annual supply drive during the month of April to benefit the Cherokee County Children’s Advocacy Center, with this year’s effort focused on collecting Play-Doh donations.

Students, faculty, staff and community members are encouraged to donate assorted colors of Play-Doh in both mini and standard containers. All items collected will go directly to the Cherokee County Children’s Advocacy Center, which provides vital services to children and families in the local community.

Organizers say the Play-Doh drive helps support the center’s mission of creating a safe, welcoming and comforting environment for children who may be experiencing difficult circumstances. Items like Play-Doh are often used during visits to help children relax, express themselves and feel more at ease.

Donations will be accepted throughout April at the designated drop-off location inside the Academic Building on the Gadsden State Cherokee Campus.

College officials say the campus is proud to partner with the community to support the important work of the Cherokee County Children’s Advocacy Center as it continues to serve children and families throughout the county.

For more information about the drive, contact Marie Roberts, Cherokee Campus Library Assistant, at amroberts@gadsdenstate.edu.
