ORANGE BEACH – Class 3A, No. 3 Collinsville scored 10 runs in the top of the fourth inning to blow out Class 6A, No. 8 Mortimer Jordan 15-3 in the Gulf Coast Classic baseball tournament in Orange Beach on Monday.
The Panthers (13-1) pounded out 14 hits in the game. Mason McAteer and Gavin Lang both delivered three hits. McAteer doubled and scored four runs. Lang homered, scored three runs, and had three RBIs.
Bronner Jones, Jeremiah Killian, and Brantley Daugherty each added a pair of hits. Jones homered, scored a run, and had two RBIs. Killian tripled, doubled, walked, and drove in a run. Daugherty scored a run and had three RBIs.
Noah Johnson collected a hit, a walk, and two runs. Sylas Adams finished with a hit.
Lang earned the win after working four innings. He tossed a two-hitter and gave up an earned run with two walks and five strikeouts.
Collinsville plays a doubleheader on Tuesday against Paragould (Ark.) at 9 a.m., followed by University Charter at 11:30 a.m. in Robertsdale.
