Animal Control Officer To Attend National Conference

Dustin Dutton told the County Commission Monday afternoon he has been offered a grant to attend the Best Friends Animal Society National Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah. The event is set for May 7 -9 with the Grant paying the total expense of $2375. The Commission accepted the Grant and approved for Dutton to attend with no cost to the County.

Four vehicles were approved to be declared surplus equipment of the Sheriff Department which will be sold at auction. The vehicles were a 2018 Ford Explorer, 2008 Ford Van, 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe, and a 2024 Ford Expedition.

A resolution passed at the previous Commission meeting was amended to correct the road sections. The resolution declares a portion of County Road 44 as the J. Doyle Buffington Memorial Highway.

The Commission voted to go into executive session to discuss the sale or purchase of property.

The next meeting of the Cherokee County Commission will be on April  13th at 10 am in the Commission Chambers.
