Motorcycle Accident Near Leesburg Injures One

A single vehicle accident occurred Saturday afternoon in Leesburg when a male subject lost control of the motorcycle the was operating and was ejected from the vehicle. According to witnesses at the scene, the subject sustained facial injuries. He was transported by Atrium Floyd EMS to a landing zone to an awaiting Medical Helicopter and was airlifted to the trauma unit at UAB Medical Center in Birmingham.

The Leesburg Police and Fire responded to the scene and assisted until the State Trooper arrived to do the investigation.

It appeared the motorcycle could have gone out of control after getting into some pine straw on the roadway.
