RedBird Willow Farm, located at 1103 Lenlock Lane in Anniston, reported that Chappy disappeared with no visible signs of escape or predator activity. Owners say the animal is a cherished part of the farm and is known for his friendly, gentle demeanor.

Farm representatives confirmed that all local rescues and appropriate officials have been notified. Efforts to locate Chappy have included a volunteer-led drone search over the property, which yielded no sightings.

An update shared late Thursday night indicated that Chappy may have been spotted in the Lenlock Lane area around 9 p.m. Farm staff spent part of the evening searching the surrounding neighborhood but were unable to locate him. The search was paused overnight and is expected to resume.

Because alpacas are herd animals, owners say Chappy may be especially distressed while separated and could be roaming or hiding nearby.

The farm has provided its contact information to local gas stations and 911 dispatchers in an effort to quickly respond to any sightings. Anyone who sees Chappy or has information about his whereabouts is asked to call 256-239-3067 immediately.

A reward is being offered for his safe return, and the farm emphasized that there will be “no questions asked” for information leading to his recovery.

“We need your help,” the farm shared in a public appeal. “He’s a very special part of our farm and loved very much.”

Residents in the Lenlock Lane area and surrounding communities are encouraged to remain alert and report any sightings.
