Anniston #Changers to Host Ward 3 Community Clean-Up

ANNISTON — Residents and community groups are being encouraged to roll up their sleeves and take part in an upcoming clean-up effort aimed at improving neighborhoods across Ward 3.

The Anniston #Changers have announced a Community Clean-Up Day scheduled for Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. The initiative is designed to bring together neighbors, families, churches, civic organizations and volunteers to help remove litter and enhance the appearance of local streets.

Participants will meet at the South Highland Community Center, located at 229 South Allen Avenue, where check-in and work assignments will begin. Organizers ask volunteers to arrive a few minutes early. Supplies will be provided, though attendees are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes.

The clean-up will focus on litter removal along several streets and surrounding areas, including Smith Street, Grant Street, Allen Avenue, Leighton Avenue, Wilmer Avenue, Cooper Avenue, Pine Avenue, Walnut Avenue, Moore Avenue, Cobb Avenue, Glen Addie Avenue, Chestnut Avenue, Front Street, Spruce Avenue, Mulberry Avenue, Constantine Avenue, Hanna Avenue, Draper Avenue and Johnson Avenue.
Organizers say the effort is part of an ongoing commitment to community pride and beautification throughout Anniston.
Those interested in participating can register online at annistonal.gov/anniston-changers. Additional event details are available at annistonal.gov/events/anniston-changers, or by contacting jhodges@annistonal.gov.
City leaders and organizers encourage broad community involvement as they work together to create a cleaner and more attractive Anniston.
