Mr. Greg Russell, age 64 of Centre, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Atrium Health Floyd in Rome, GA. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Freddy Reynolds officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home.
Greg was born September 3, 1961, in Etowah County, AL, to Clarence and Doris Russell. He was a mechanic and owned and operated Russell Small Engine for 22 years. He was a great husband, father and grandfather. His grandchildren were his world, he was always involved in any sport or activity they were a part of.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Bone Russell; sons, Brandon Russell (Amber), Brandon Russell (Kayla), and Logan McEwen (Sarah); grandchildren, Bryce, Bentley, Addie, Brantley, Ava and Brynlee; step granddaughter, Charlie; great-granddaughter, Londyn; aunt, Betty Smith; uncle, Bobby Russell; sister-in-law, Janet Russell; nephew, Todd Russell (Kim); and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Doris Russell; and brothers, Michael Russell and Larry Russell.
Pallbearers will be Skylar Ray, Bryce Russell, Kevin Haney, Ryan Law, Drew Pritchett, and Nick Mobley.
