In the Cherokee County Arrest Files for the previous 24 hours:

Malaki Sipsy, age 21 of Centre, was arrested by the Centre Police Department on charges of four counts of the possession of child sexual abuse material and 122 counts of the attempted possession of child sexual abuse material.

Ralph Mathes, age 55 of Gadsden, was arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office on a charge of 3rd degree theft of property.

Alan Hughes, age 35 of Gadsden, was arrested by the Leesburg Police Department on a charge of certain persons forbidden to carry a firearm VPL.

Heather York, age 34 of Grant, was arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office on a grand jury indictment for the unlawful distribution of a controlled substance.

Arrests are based on probable cause; all subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Currently, there are a total of 76 inmates housed in the Cherokee County Detention Center.
