Five-run seventh helps lift Collinsville softball past Spring Garden

SPRING GARDEN – The Collinsville Lady Panthers scored five runs in the top of the seventh inning to take a 13-7 softball win at Spring Garden on Tuesday.

Bella Wills led Collinsville (2-7) by going 2-for-5 at the plate with a double, a run, and four RBIs. She also pitched five innings and allowed four earned runs on seven hits with three walks and five strikeouts.

Lexii Burt was also 2-for-5 with a double, two runs, and a RBI. Carlee Davis went 2-for-3 with two walks and two RBIs.

Ella Coker doubled, walked twice, scored twice, and had four RBIs. Aubrey Reeves contributed a hit, a walk and three runs. Jemma Smith drew a walk. She also tossed two innings and gave up a hit with a strikeout.

Olivia Messer homered for Spring Garden (0-1) and had three RBIs. Addie Word went 2-for-4 with a run and a RBI.

Kylie Bates contributed a hit, a walk and two runs. Breanna Hernandez had a hit and two walks.

Paisley Woodall and Hayden Parris both had a hit and scored a run. Ava Boatner added a hit. Lleyton Carroll drove in a pair of runs, and Maya Jennings scored a run.

Kendall Birchfield tossed 2 1/3 innings for Spring Garden. She gave up three earned runs on two hits, had five walks and two strikeouts. Word tossed 4 2/3 innings and surrendered eight earned runs on six hits with six walks and five strikeouts.
