Cherokee County Career and Technology Center Students Earn Honors in State and District Competitions

Several students from the Cherokee County Career and Technology Center have recently achieved outstanding success in career and technical student organization competitions.

The JAG (Jobs for Alabama’s Graduates) program at the Cherokee County Career and Technology Center placed 1st in the District JAG Competition and went on to earn 2nd place at the State JAG Competition. As a result of their performance, these students have qualified to compete at the National JAG Conference and Competition in Salt Lake City, Utah, in April. This is a tremendous accomplishment, and school officials say they are very proud of the students’ hard work and dedication.

In addition, several students also had success in the Skills USA District Competition.

Brentyn Groh earned 1st place in Automotive Finish and has qualified to compete at the State Skills USA Competition on April 20.

Aidan Evans earned 3rd place in welding and has also qualified to compete at the State Skills USA Welding Competition.

School leaders say they are proud of the way these students represent the Cherokee County Career and Technology Center, their programs, and Cherokee County Schools as they advance to the next level of competition.
