Mrs. Ella Sue Daugherty, age 85, of Cedar Bluff, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2026.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Perry Funeral Home with Freddy Reynolds and Steve Clanton officiating. Burial will follow in Plunket Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will include friends and family.
Mrs. Sue was the daughter of the late Wilburn Isaac Pope and Bessie Lee Hayes Pope. She worked for many years as the janitor at Centre Middle School, where she was known for her dedication and kind spirit. She also attended First Baptist Church of Centre.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth Daugherty; daughters, Martha (Stan) Reynolds and Beverly (Larry) Pendergrass; brother, Eldon (Elsie) Pope; sister, Grace Nelson; grandchildren, Shannon (Brittany) Pendergrass and Leah (Keith) Pinkston; great-grandchildren, Brynley Pinkston, Andrew Pinkston, and Emilia Pendergrass; and chosen great-grandchildren, Nicholas Redmond, Preston Redmond, Natalie Roden Smith, Brody Roden, and Chad Lyons.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Daugherty, and her son, Billy Wayne Daugherty.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Centre First Baptist Church Building Fund or Plunkett Cemetery.
