Collinsville picks up baseball wins over Lee-Scott, Thomasville

NORTHPORT – The Collinsville Panthers picked up a pair of baseball wins Saturday over Lee-Scott Academy and Thomasville at River Run Park in Northport on Saturday.

They defeated Lee-Scott 9-4 and held off Thomasville 1-0 to improve to 8-1 on the season.

In the win over Lee-Scott, Gavin Lang homered, doubled, walked, scored twice, and drove in four runs. He also picked up the win after working 6 1/3 innings. He gave up three earned runs on six hits with four walks and six strikeouts.

Jeremiah Killian went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Mason McAteer managed a hit, three walks, two runs, and a RBI. Colton Pettus had a hit and scored a run.

Jacob Niles scored twice and drove in a run. Bronner Jones walked twice and scored a run. Brantley Daugherty walked twice and drove in a run. Noah Johnson scored a run.

In the win over Thomasville, McAteer doubled and scored the game’s only run. He also earned the win on the mound after pitching a complete game. He gave up four hits with two walks and nine strikeouts.

Niles and Sylas Adams added a hit apiece. Killian and Pettus walked twice. Johnson and Jones walked once.

Collinsville travels to Spring Garden on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
