While executing a search warrant onThursday, investigators with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and officers with the Piedmont Police Department conducted a joint warrant operation at a residence off of U.S. Highway 278 in the Spring Garden community.

During the search, investigators discovered approximately 4.5 pounds of suspected methamphetamine along with drug paraphernalia inside the home. Investigators also recovered firearms from inside the residence. The homeowner is prohibited by law from possessing a firearm.

Five suspects were taken into custody on a laundry list of charges:
Donnie Lewis Maddox Jr., 43, of Piedmont faces charges of Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Jonathan Wade McGatha, 43, of Piedmont charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Gina Heather Jones, 35, of Piedmont arrested on charges of Trafficking in Methamphetamine and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Keioga Troy Quarles, 32, of Cedar Bluff was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, 2nd Degree, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Breanna Marie Hancock, 33, of Cedar Bluff was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, 2nd Degree and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

All suspects were transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center.
