TRUSSVILLE – The Cherokee County Lady Warriors split a pair of softball games in the Hewitt-Trussville softball tournament on Friday. They defeated Briarwood Christian 3-1, then fell against Hazel Green 9-4.

In the win over Briarwood Christian, Sofie Dawson led the Lady Warriors by going 2-for-3 with a run. Bristol Bass went 1-for-2 with a walk, a run, and two RBIs. Izzy Patterson was also 1-for-2 with a walk. Emma Eberhart went 1-for-3 with a RBI. Kaylee Lewis was also 1-for-3.

Brooklynn Bruce drew two walks and scored a run. Emma Hill earned a walk.

In the loss to Hazel Green, Patterson went 2-for-3 with a run and a RBI. Hill was also 2-for-3 with a run. Dawson also went 2-for-3.

Kar’leigh Bowman had a hit, a walk, a run, and a RBI. Sydni Frost contributed a hit and a RBI. Eberhart had a hit and a run. Bruce had a hit and a RBI. Lewis finished with a hit.

Cherokee County takes on Saraland in the Hewitt-Trussville tournament on Saturday at 9 a.m.
