Centre Mayor Attends Announcement of New Minth Plant in Gadsden

Centre — Centre Mayor Jay Howell attended Thursday’s announcement of a major industrial project in Gadsden, where global automotive supplier Minth Group Limited revealed plans to build a $430 million manufacturing campus expected to create more than 1,300 jobs.

The announcement was held at the site of the former steel mill in Gadsden, where state and local leaders gathered to highlight the economic impact the new facility will bring to the region.

Mayor Howell thanked Gadsden Mayor Craig Ford for the invitation to attend the event and expressed appreciation for the opportunity to witness the announcement firsthand.

Speaking with WEIS Radio following the event, Howell said he was excited about the potential job opportunities the new plant could provide for residents of Centre and the surrounding area.

Minth Group’s new campus will produce plastic and aluminum components for automotive manufacturers in the United States and is expected to become the company’s largest facility worldwide.
