Bains Gap Road Closed Today for Controlled Burn

ANNISTON-The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service will conduct a controlled burn today on approximately 350 acres near its main office south of Bains Gap Road.

Bains Gap Road will be closed from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during the burn. Officials note the road may reopen earlier if conditions allow.

Controlled burns are a routine land management practice used to reduce wildfire risk and improve habitat health. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes and avoid the area while the work is underway.

The Fish & Wildlife Service thanked the public for their patience as the burn is safely carried out.
