Centre Fire Department Leaders Earn National EMS Certifications

CENTRE — Two members of the Centre Fire Department have recently achieved new Emergency Medical Services certifications, marking an important step in continued training aimed at strengthening emergency response capabilities for the Centre community.

Captain Chevy Pierce and Fire Chief Robert Pace have both successfully passed their National Registry examinations, a nationally recognized certification required for many emergency medical personnel across the United States.
Pierce recently earned certification as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-A), while Pace successfully completed the requirements to become a certified Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B).
The National Registry exams measure the knowledge and skills needed to provide emergency medical care in the field, and passing the exams represents a significant accomplishment for emergency responders pursuing advanced training.
Officials say the certifications reflect an ongoing commitment by the department to expand professional training and enhance the level of service provided to residents of Centre and surrounding areas. With additional EMS qualifications among its leadership, the Centre Fire Department continues to strengthen its ability to respond to medical emergencies and provide critical care when it is needed.
Department members noted that continued education and training are key components in ensuring firefighters and first responders remain prepared to meet the needs of the community.
The recent certifications by Pierce and Pace represent another step forward in the department’s efforts to improve emergency services and better serve the citizens of Centre.
