Collinsville Woman Injured in Pedestrian Crash in Cherokee County

CENTRE- A Collinsville woman was injured Monday evening after being struck by a vehicle in Cherokee County.
The crash occurred at approximately 6:05 p.m. on March 2 on Cherokee County 22 near Cherokee County 422, about five miles east of Centre, according to authorities.
State troopers reported that Becky E. Pannell, 43, was in the roadway when she was struck by a 2018 Toyota 4Runner driven by Isabella K. Evans, 21, of Centre.
Pannell was transported to Atrium Health Floyd Cherokee Medical Center for treatment and was later airlifted to another hospital due to the severity of her injuries, according to local authorities.
Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division are continuing to investigate the incident. No additional information has been released.
