Southside Police Issue Scam Alert Regarding Door-to-Door Pine Straw Sales

SOUTHSIDE-The Southside Police Department is warning residents about individuals reportedly going door to door in Etowah County offering pine straw services without a business license and allegedly scamming homeowners.

According to police, the individuals are believed to be soliciting work directly from residents without proper authorization. Authorities say some homeowners may have paid for services that were not completed or were misrepresented.

Officials are urging residents in Southside to take precautions before agreeing to any door-to-door services. Police advise asking to see a valid city permit for door-to-door sales as well as a copy of the seller’s business license. Verifying credentials can help protect residents from potential fraud.
