Cherokee County Deputies Complete 40-Hour Handgun Instructor Development Course
Last week, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office hosted the Strategic Self-Defense & Gunfighting Tactics 40-Hour Handgun Instructor Development Course at its Training Center.

The intensive course is designed to enhance both shooting proficiency and instructional capability, equipping participants to confidently and competently train others in handgun fundamentals and defensive tactics.

Investigator Josh Hairston, Investigator Jonah Smith, Corporal Dalton Cosby, and Deputy Kasey West successfully completed the course and earned their instructor certifications.

Officials say the certifications reflect the department’s continued commitment to professional development and to providing the highest level of training, preparedness, and service to the citizens of Cherokee County.
