Narcotics Investigation Leads to Arrests in Sand Rock

An ongoing drug investigation led to the execution of a search warrant this morning at a home on County Road 50 in Sand Rock. Deputies and investigators with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, along with officers from the Leesburg Police Department, carried out the search.

According to Sheriff Jeff Shaver, deputies found methamphetamine and other illegal drugs, along with several items of drug paraphernalia, inside the home.

As a result of the search, two people were arrested:

  • Jonathan Robert Buford, 56, of Leesburg, charged with:
    • Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute
    • Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree
    • Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

  • Tracy Chatham Mallard, 56, of Leesburg, charged with:
    • Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance
    • Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

 

Sheriff Shaver extended his appreciation to the Leesburg Police Department for their assistance in the operation.
