Mackenzie Grace to Be Honored with Resolution for Reading 3,500 Books in 2025

At just 20 months old, Mackenzie Grace Stigile has reached an extraordinary milestone — reading, with assistance, 3,500 children’s books in 2025.
Mackenzie Grace began 2025 at 8 months old and finished the year at 20 months. Throughout the year, her family focused intentionally on early language, communication, and literacy development.
“It’s been so exciting to watch her vocabulary grow and develop,” her family shared. “She’s already speaking in full sentences and has blown us away with her understanding. Needless to say, it’s been a fun year, and we are so proud.”
Early language, communication, and literacy were the family’s primary goals. They emphasized that these skills are fundamental to building a strong foundation and wanted to ensure Mackenzie has the best possible education they can provide, noting their belief that success starts at home.
According to her family, Mackenzie has enjoyed expanding her vocabulary to better communicate. Often, she would begin using new words from books within just a few hours of reading them. Watching her growth unfold has been a rewarding experience.
Most of the reading took place at home or at the office with her mother and Nana. The family has built a personal collection of books, including titles from her mother’s childhood as well as books shared by her cousins. They also made frequent trips to the library for additional selections. Mackenzie has also enjoyed books received through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program.
At 20 months old, she can independently say her alphabet and numbers one through 20, identify her letters, colors, and animals accurately, and often speaks in full sentences and phrases.
Looking ahead to 2026, the family hopes to read 4,000 books during the year and begin working on sight words as part of her continued literacy development.
A Resolution Presentation Ceremony will be held to honor Mackenzie Grace for the extraordinary achievement of reading 3,500 books in 2025.
The celebration will take place Friday, March 6, at 1:00 p.m. at the Gadsden Public Library.
The event will recognize Mackenzie Grace’s accomplishment and celebrate her love of learning, dedication, and joyful imagination. Community members are invited to attend and take part in the special occasion.
Senator Andrew Jones will present the honor during the ceremony.
The public is encouraged to attend and support Mackenzie Grace as she is recognized for her remarkable milestone in literacy.
