Anniston Police Officers Receive Specialized Bomb Threat Management Training

ANNISTON — Officers with the Anniston Police Department, along with personnel from surrounding public safety agencies, participated earlier this week in specialized training focused on Bomb Threat Management.

The instruction was led by former Anniston Police Department officer Mike Murray, who is currently assigned to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Bomb Squad. Murray provided detailed guidance on the proper procedures for receiving and assessing bomb threats, as well as best practices for safely approaching and managing credible threats in the field.

Anniston Police officials said the department remains committed to equipping officers with the knowledge and resources necessary to respond effectively to evolving public safety challenges.

By investing in ongoing professional development and specialized instruction, APD aims to ensure its officers are prepared to serve and protect the community as safely and efficiently as possible.
