Collinsville claims 7-2 baseball win over Cherokee County

COLLINSVILLE – Gavin Lang doubled and drove in three runs. He also tossed six innings and allowed two unearned runs on two hits with two walks and nine strikeouts in the Collinsville Panthers’ 7-2 baseball win over Cherokee County on Friday.

Mason McAteer led the Panthers (3-1) at the plate by going 3-for-4 with a double, a run, and RBI. Brantley Daugherty went 2-for-4 with a run and a RBI. He also tossed an inning of no-hit ball with a strikeout.

Noah Johnson collected a hit, a walk, a run, and a RBI. Jacob Niles also contributed a hit with a walk and a run. Jeremiah Killian doubled. Bronner Jones and Chase Godshall both scored a run.

Aiden Bobbitt and Adam Griffith had the lone hits for the Warriors (1-3). Griffith also scored a run.

Daniel Neyman walked and scored a run. Nate Black walked.

Black suffered the loss after working 3 1/3 innings. He allowed one earned run on seven hits with three walks and nine strikeouts. Owen Jacoway tossed 2 2/3 innings and allowed two hits with a walk and two strikeouts.
