County Road 41 Home Destroyed by Fire

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ala.– A home at 8900 County Road 41, near Gaylesville, was destroyed by fire around 2 p.m. today.

According to initial reports, the house was occupied at the time of the blaze, but everyone inside was able to escape safely. One person who was not inside the residence when the fire started was transported to a local hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.

Agencies responding to the scene included the Cedar Bluff Fire Department, Brooketown/Rinehart Fire Department, Gaylesville Fire Department, Menlo Fire Department, Atrium Floyd EMS, and the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and the incident remains under investigation.
