Calhoun County Sheriff Appoints William Moses as Chief Deputy

Anniston— Calhoun County Sheriff Falon Hurst has announced the appointment of Captain William Moses as the new Chief Deputy of the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office.

In a statement released by the Sheriff’s Office, Hurst said Moses brings extensive experience and a strong understanding of the agency’s operations to the role.
“I am pleased to announce that I have selected Captain William Moses to serve as my Chief Deputy,” Hurst said. “Chief Moses brings a wealth of experience to the role and fits well with the direction in which I am taking the office.”

Moses has served with the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office since 2007 and has worked in nearly every division within the agency. Over the course of his career, he has held positions as a corrections officer, dispatcher, deputy sheriff, jail administrator, detective and mental health officer.
Sheriff Hurst noted that Moses’ broad-based experience across both law enforcement and corrections operations uniquely positions him to serve in the department’s second-in-command role. As Chief Deputy, Moses will assist in overseeing daily operations, administrative functions and strategic initiatives within the Sheriff’s Office.
Hurst encouraged the community and agency personnel to join her in congratulating Moses on his appointment.
The appointment is effective immediately.
