18-Wheeler Fire Closes Lane on I-59 North Near Gadsden
GADSDEN — A single-vehicle crash involving an 18-wheeler Wednesday night led to a lane closure on Interstate 59 northbound near Gadsden in Etowah County.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the crash occurred at approximately 7:53 p.m. on Feb. 25 near the 193-mile marker in Etowah County. The exit is between about 5 miles north of the Reece City/Noccalula Exit.
According to witnesses, the incident involved a commercial vehicle and resulted in a fire, prompting the closure of the right northbound lane. Mike Owens granted WEIS permission to use video he took of the incident.
The effected lane was closed while authorities worked the scene.
