Weiss Lake Anglers Cash In On Tagged Crappie

The Weiss Lake Improvement Association’s Crappie Rodeo is now underway through April 30 with more than $135,000 worth of prizes. There are more than 470 tagged fish worth $50 each, more than 470 worth $100 each, 55 worth $1000 each and 1 Tagged Crappie worth $10,000. Today a $100 tagged crappie was caught and turned in at Bay Springs Marina worth $100.

The lucky angler was Chad Maddox from Missouri. Another tagged fish was turned in Sunday at Coosa Corner, another angler caught a $50 fish and turned it in at Bay Springs Marina, with Josh Ingram of Cleveland, Alabama catching the first tagged fish of the year on February 8. It was a $50 fish and turned in a Bay Springs Marina.

Anglers can purchase their Bounty Badge at participating merchants around lake. Just look for the signage indicating their participation in the Crappie Rodeo.
