CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ala.– A mobile home was destroyed by fire Tuesday afternoon following a reported explosion in the Spring Creek community.

The fire was reported around 1 p.m. at 130 County Road 557. Neighbors told WEIS Radio they heard an explosion shortly before the fire began.

The mobile home was declared a total loss. A nearby trailer and an automobile also sustained damage as a result of the fire.

Responding agencies included the Spring Creek Volunteer Fire Department, McCord’s Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department, Ellisville Fire Department, and Atrium Floyd EMS.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
