CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ala.– A mobile home was destroyed by fire Tuesday afternoon following a reported explosion in the Spring Creek community.
The fire was reported around 1 p.m. at 130 County Road 557. Neighbors told WEIS Radio they heard an explosion shortly before the fire began.
The mobile home was declared a total loss. A nearby trailer and an automobile also sustained damage as a result of the fire.
Responding agencies included the Spring Creek Volunteer Fire Department, McCord’s Crossroads Volunteer Fire Department, and Atrium Floyd EMS.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
