ANNISTON, Ala.– Fire crews responded Monday to a large structure fire at an apartment complex near Warrior Road and Greenbrier Dear Road in Anniston.

The Anniston Fire Department says firefighters were able to contain the blaze. Officials asked non-essential individuals to avoid the area while crews worked the scene.

Multiple fire apparatus and hose lines remained in place for several hours, causing temporary roadway blockages and traffic delays.

Six families were displaced as a result of the fire. The American Red Cross was notified and is assisting those affected.

No injuries were reported.
