CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ala. — In recognition of National School Resource Officers Day, the Sheriff’s Department is highlighting the dedicated men and women who serve as School Resource Officers (SROs throughout the county’s schools.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, SROs play a role that extends far beyond law enforcement. They work daily to build positive relationships with students, offer guidance and mentorship, respond during moments of crisis, and help ensure schools remain safe environments for learning.
Many officers become trusted and familiar figures to students, faculty, and parents, strengthening the connection between local law enforcement and the community.
The Sheriff’s Office expressed gratitude for the professionalism, commitment, and lasting impact these officers bring to Cherokee County schools each day, offering thanks for their continued service and dedication.
