SAND ROCK – Sand Rock’s Jonas Browder sank four 3-pointers and netted 20 points. He also dished out seven assists and grabbed five rebounds to lead the Wildcats past Alabama Aerospace and Aviation of Bessemer 69-44 in Class 2A boys basketball sub-regional action on Friday.
Will Cleere and Wyatt Miller both managed double-doubles for the Wildcats (21-11). Cleere collected 14 points, 10 rebounds, and an assist. Miller posted 11 points, 10 boards, and two assists.
Elijah Hood contributed nine points, three rebounds, and three assists. Thomas Snead tallied nine points on three 3-pointers. He also had two rebounds and an assist.
Katavius Molette led Alabama Aerospace and Aviation with 11 points. Jordan Stephenson connected on a pair of treys and had 10 points. Landon Barnes netted nine points. Alfredo Alaya added six points on a pair of 3-pointers. Xavier Teasley finished five points
Sand Rock jumped out on a 13-2 lead in the first quarter and held a 30-16 advantage at halftime. The Wildcats took a 50-30 edge heading into the fourth quarter.
Sand Rock will face either North Sand Mountain or Southeastern on Tuesday in the Class 2A Northeast Regional at Jacksonville State University’s Pete Mathews Coliseum.
