Evenflo Issues Recall for Certain Titan 65 Car Seats

Evenflo is recalling certain Titan 65 car seats after discovering that some units were shipped without a tether, a component that helps improve performance in the event of a crash.

According to the company, the recall affects the following model numbers: CS200311198, CS200312198, 3711198 and 3712198. The impacted seats were manufactured between March 1, 2025, and Dec. 11, 2025.

Evenflo said it will provide a free tether kit to owners of affected car seats.

Parents and caregivers are encouraged to check their car seat’s model number and manufacture date. Anyone who owns an affected seat should contact Evenflo to receive the free tether kit.

For more information, call Evenflo at 800-233-5921.

The company issued  the following statement:

Keeping children safe in the car is a top priority for families, and Evenflo takes that responsibility seriously. We are conducting a voluntary recall of certain SureRide/Titan 65 convertible car seats distributed in the United States and Canada because a small number of units were shipped without the top tether strap designed to improve protection in forward-facing installations.

The issue was identified following reports from customers, and no injuries have been reported.

Parents and caregivers should check the back of their car seat for a tether strap and hook. If the tether is present, no action is needed, and the car seat may continue to be used as instructed. If the tether is missing, consumers should contact Evenflo’s ParentLink Consumer Care team at 1-800-233-5921 (US) or 1-800-265-0749 (Canada), or email ParentLink@evenflo.com to request a free replacement tether kit.

While waiting for the replacement, consumers may continue to use the car seat in rear-facing mode. Evenflo does not recommend use of this seat in forward-facing mode without the tether and Canadian law requires use of the tether forward-facing. If the tether strap is missing from your car seat, we strongly urge you to contact ParentLink to secure a replacement tether immediately.

Evenflo encourages all parents and caregivers to register their car seats so we can quickly share important safety information. We remain committed to product quality, transparency, and the safety of the families who trust Evenflo products every day.

Q1: What product is being recalled and why?

Certain models of the Evenflo SureRide/Titan 65 convertible car seats distributed in the U.S. and Canada manufactured between March 1, 2025, and December 11, 2025, are being voluntarily recalled. A small number of consumers reported their seats were shipped without the top tether strap, which is used only for forward-facing mode. No injuries have been reported.

Q2: How do I know if my seat is impacted?

Step 1: Check the back of the car seat for the tether strap and hook.
Step 2: Confirm the car seat’s model number and date of manufacture against the following:

  • S.:3711198, 3712198, CS200312198, CS200311198
  • Canada: 37111835C, 37111835CD
  • Date of Manufacture:3/1/25 – 12/11/25

Q3: Is my car seat safe to use?

  • If the tether is present, no action is needed, and the car seat is safe for continued use as directed.

  • If the tether is not present, a replacement will be sent at no charge. Please contact Evenflo’s ParentLink Consumer Care team at 800-233-5921 (US) or 1-800-265-0749 (Canada), or email ParentLink@evenflo.comto request a free replacement tether kit.

  • If you are currently using the car seat in rear-facing mode, your seat is safe for continued use as directed. The tether will need to be added before switching to forward-facing mode.
  • If you are currently using your seat in forward-facing mode,
    • You can switch back to rear-facing installation if your child weighs less than 40 lbs. and is under 43 inches tall.
    • While all Evenflo car seats meet federal crash-test requirements with or without a tether, if your child exceeds the height and weight for rear-facing installation and your car seat does not have a tether, Evenflo strongly recommends using an alternative car seat until the tether is received.
